The unique, boutique Goldener Hirsch Inn is the only family-owned hotel at Deer Valley. Since 1992 it has been owned and operated by the philanthropic Eccles family whose Utah roots date back to the late 1800’s having been part of the development of Utah since then. The Goldener Hirsch Inn is an Eccles family jewel. “Over the past 20 years we have all been involved with the Goldener Hirsch, choosing the furniture, antiques, and art objects together, overseeing the exceptional service that is our hallmark and tasting the wonderful creations of Chef Ryan to ensure that our guests experience warmth and attention of visit to our home,” states Hope Eccles, President.

The inspiration for the Inn dates back multiple decades to the family's visits to the original Hotel Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg, Austria. The epitome of Austrian hospitality, the Hotel's original antiques and handmade furniture pay tribute to 600 years of history. The historic 5-star luxury Hotel Goldener Hirsch Salzburg has been offering guests tradition and originality since 1407. The Eccles family has created the Goldener Hirsch Inn at Deer Valley with this same passion for hospitality, service and heritage.

The Goldener Hirsch Inn at Deer Valley is an exclusive boutique hotel situated mid-mountain in the heart of the Silver Lake Village. Every guest is welcomed like family and pampered with superior service in a very special atmosphere of charming Austrian elegance. The Inn was voted United States’ Best Ski Boutique Hotel 2013 and again in 2015. The exceptional cuisine choices at the Goldener Hirsch Inn include the award-winning Goldener Hirsch Inn Restaurant offering a delicious contemporary Alpine cuisine with a seasonal American spin. It is with the utmost of pride that the Eccles family presents their vision for the new Goldener Hirsch.

The Goldener Hirsch Inn, a small luxury resort nestled in the heart of Deer Valley, was again voted the country’s “Best Ski Boutique Hotel” in the World Ski Awards for the second time in three years.

The World Ski Awards, part of the World Travel Awards, also recognized Deer Valley as the Best Resort in North America. Both were crowned this past weekend at a three-day awards ceremony in Kitzbühel, Austria— just 50 miles from the Goldener Hirsch’s namesake and inspiration, the Hotel Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg, Austria.

“We are so thrilled about this win!” said Hope Eccles, president of Goldener Hirsch Inn. “That we won speaks to the friendliness and professionalism of our staff, who make every stay special, and also to all of our wonderful guests. We are delighted to be part of Deer Valley, the Number One Ski Resort in the US!”

This award is the latest accolade for Goldener Hirsch Inn, which has received acclaim for its accommodations and personalized service since opening in 1991. In addition to earning “Extraordinary” ratings from the Zagat Survey and “Four-Diamond” ratings from AAA for the past 12 years, it has won repeated recognition from magazines including Wine Spectator.

Located just steps from the ski runs of Deer Valley, the Goldener Hirsch Inn plays home to a European environment in an unparalleled natural setting, featuring award-winning ski-in/ski-out luxury accommodations, personal five-star service, and a renowned full-service restaurant and lounge.

The hotel’s 20 rooms feature European King-sized beds, hand-painted furnishings, fluffy terry-cloth robes and slippers, private balconies and wood-burning fireplaces. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s hot tubs, sauna and exercise equipment and Continental and American fare from its restaurant, which has earned “Extraordinary” ratings from Zagat and Four-Diamond recommendations from AAA.

“We take the small village, small hotel experience of the European Alps and make it a reality here in Deer Valley,” Eccles said. “Ours is a truly warm experience, where you can share special evenings with your loved ones and meet fellow guests also enjoying a special stay with us. When you stay at the Goldener Hirsch Inn, you’re sure to have a fully satisfying, one-of-a-kind experience.”
